plaintiff a 67 year-old saleswoman at the time of this malpractice claims that defended neurologist failed to timely refer to a neurosurgeon on May 26, 1994, and on August 9, 1994 when she presented with complaints of what was later diagnosed as a cervical spondylitis myopathy. Plaintiff testified that she presented to defendant on September 29, 1993, with complaints of bilateral numbness and tingling in their hands and pain radiating from her neck to our hands. She was diagnosed with severe bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome and cervical ridiculous following heat energy studies conducted on September 27, 1993. On October 26, 1993, defendant ordered an MRI of the cervical spine, which showed a severely compressed cervical spine at the C3 - for level, and severe stenosis and spondylitis of the cervical spine. Defendant referred plaintiff to a hand surgeon, Dr. Bruce Greenstein, who surgically treated the carpal tunnel syndrome.
