The National Healthcare Quality Report estimates that 5.08 per 1,000 birth injuries occurred in female infants and 6.68 per 1,000 occurred in male infants.
According to the 2014 report for the National Health Interview Survey, 22.5 million adults in the United States aged 18 and older reported that they experienced vision loss. Of these 22.5 million, 9.5 million men and 13.0 million women reported that they experienced significant loss of vision.

An Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality report revealed that $17.4 billion was spent for maternal care with delivery-related complications in 2008 in the US. That year, 94% of women had some type of pregnancy complication.
